About the Role

Responsibilities
- Perform design/analyses calculations related to electrical works such as low voltage distribution network, medium voltage and high voltage networks, substations, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial plant electrification, standby power systems, 33kV primary substations, protection and controls
- Prepare general arrangements, layouts, plans, single line diagrams, protection diagrams, schematic diagrams
- Research and prepare design options and documents
- Conduct value engineering studies
- Review drawings and extract engineering information from CAD drawings
- Prepare engineering computations, design reports, estimates, surveys, and designs
- Interface with other Engineering disciplines and departments
- Review shop drawings, supplier drawings and technical submittals
- Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
- Perform technical tender analyses and prepare tender evaluation report
- Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower level Engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a major university
- At least 5 years of related regional experience with progressively increasing responsibility
- Fluent in International design practices, standards such as IEC, BS, ANSI
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other engineering design software packages such ETAP, PSS Sincal, CYME, Amtech/Trimble, AGI32, Dialux, AutoCAD 3D, Revit
- Good spoken and written English

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi.

What You'll Be Doing

- Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
- Reviews shop drawings, supplier drawing and technical submittals.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Performs technical tender analyses and prepares tender evaluation report.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a major university. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
- At least 5 years of related regional experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Fluent in International design practices, standards such as IEC, BS, ANSI.
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other engineering design software packages such ETAP, PSS Sincal, CYME, Amtech/Trimble, AGI32, Dialux AutoCAD 3D, Revit.
- Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (AutoCAD).
- Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively.
- Good spoken and written English is essential.

- Worked on projects with local utility companies ADDC/TAQA, TRANSCO, DEWA, FEWA etc. and well versed with their specifications and systems.
- Team player and positive working attitude.
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from a major university.
