Job Summary
The role requires an experienced electrical engineer with 12–20 years of experience in electrical engineering, BIM modelling, grid, and substation projects.
The position develops and manages 3D BIM models and electrical design deliverables for substations and grid infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 3D BIM models for grid, substation, and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Model switchgear, transformers, cable systems, switchyards, grounding grids, protection and control panels, auxiliary systems, and smart grid infrastructure.
- Work on DERMS, AMI, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and related smart grid infrastructure.
- Extract construction drawings, bills of materials, cable schedules, and clearance verification reports from 3D models.
- Develop parametric families and intelligent BIM components with embedded electrical metadata.
- Work across LOD 300 to LOD 500 BIM requirements.
- Support Scan-to-BIM and digital twin creation for brownfield substation projects.
- Ensure designs meet project requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with engineering, BIM, construction, and project teams.
- Work on US and European projects and follow relevant standards, including Norsok where applicable.
