Job Description

  • The EHS Officer will be responsible for supporting the EHS Supervisor and helping to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • This position will be based onsite at our facility in Burnfoot, County Donegal.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting and engagement in good catch programme.
  • EHS training records – keeping up to date and checking for renewal dates.
  • Maintaining records in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
  • Preparation of monthly global safety KPI’s
  • Assist in the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local and national safety regulations.
  • Actively encouraging reporting of SIF P.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits of work areas to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Complete risk assessments and document findings, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Monitor safety performance and assist in the development of reports on safety incidents, accidents, and trends.
  • Ensure safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are in good condition and readily available for employees.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of health and safety training for employees to ensure awareness of safety procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and help prepare reports with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) membership (desirable)
  • >3 years of experience
  • Strong Safety Leadership
  • Emergency Management
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with risk assessments and audits
  • Professional communication skills with workers, management, and external authorities and ability to influence and engage employees at all levels to drive a proactive EHS culture
  • Excellent Team player
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of legal requirements in Environmental, Health and Safety and civil protection areas.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (Desirable)
