Responsibilities
- Assist the neurologist for EEG and EMG procedures.
- Perform 10 20 electrode placement.
- Conduct brain death recording, sleep deprived EEG, sleep EEG, and electromyography.
- Prepare patient for testing by attaching monitoring devices and explaining test procedures.
- Set up and calibrate necessary equipment.
- Review patient records and interview patients to obtain additional information.
- Record observations and analyze test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.
- Maintain lab equipment, ensure room is clean, institute quality control procedures.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform minor repairs.
- Write patient information in medical records notebook and EEG Log Book.
Requirements
- DHA eligibility or license.
- Knowledge of 10 20 electrode placement.
- Experience with EEG and EMG procedures.
- Ability to prepare patients and attach monitoring devices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment.
