Job Overview
- The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to join our EAL Team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the EAL Coordinator and Head of Inclusion, providing support to students with English as an Additional Language.
About the Role
- Work closely with class teachers, the EAL Coordinator, and the Head of Inclusion to provide individual and small group support
- Adapt resources and strategies to meet learners’ needs
- Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the development and review of Individual EAL Plans and support programmes
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting confidence, independence, and effective communication
- Contribute to the wider work of the school by participating in meetings, collaborating with the EAL team, and strengthening links between home and school
Qualifications
- Fluent English language speakers
- Fluency in an additional language would be an advantage
