Lead and oversee all document control functions on complex construction projects.
Ensure strategic implementation of document control systems and compliance with client, regulatory, and company standards.
Lead continuous improvement and team development in document control workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise document control team and mentor junior staff in best practices
- Develop and maintain advanced document control systems, including cloud-based platforms and BIM workflows
- Oversee intake, review, and distribution of all project documents for multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure high-volume documentation and critical deliverables are managed accurately and timely
- Review of QA/QC documents, change orders, and regulatory compliance submissions
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and clients to facilitate document flows and approvals
- Conduct document control audits, quality checks, and process improvement initiatives
- Provide regular reports on document control status to senior project management
- Train team members and stakeholders on document control systems and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- 10+ years’ document control experience in large-scale construction projects, with proven leadership
- Expert knowledge of document control systems and construction project documentation standards
- Proficiency in advanced document management software (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Procore)
- Strong analytical, communication, and team leadership skills
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and regulatory compliance in UAE context
