- Provide vision and direction for the technical department, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives
- Mentor and develop engineering teams to enhance skills and expertise
- Drive innovation by encouraging and implementing new technologies and methodologies
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they are completed to specifications, on time, and within budget
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure all technical aspects of projects are integrated effectively
- Identify areas for improvement within technical operations and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Utilize data and metrics to assess performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align technical requirements with business objectives
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and industry partners to support project success
- Ensure adherence to all relevant local and international standards, regulations, and best practices in engineering and construction
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with technical operations
- Maintain thorough documentation of technical specifications, project plans, and compliance records
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master's Degree is a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within technical services or engineering management in large scale development or construction projects
- Proven experience in project management methodologies and principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and implement continuous improvement initiatives in technical operations
- In depth knowledge of engineering standards, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to large scale projects
- Track record of successful risk management and problem solving in complex environments
- Excellent analytical abilities and proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining a focus on quality and safety
