Director of Sales and Marketing

Role Overview

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in business plan preparation with emphasis on hotel revenue objectives.
• Develops marketing plans with clear objectives and sales goals for each business segment.
• Ensures hotel brand standards and values are maintained and records approved deviations from the Visual Identity Manual.
• Recommends and oversees the hotel's advertising and communications plan.
• Directs and approves Sales and Marketing team travel plans to maximize coverage and revenue potential.
• Leads weekly and monthly forecasting meetings with revenue management and develops strategies to achieve targets.
• Uses revenue management and channel distribution tools to support business decisions.
• Establishes and reviews marketing and sales budgets and allocated expenditures.
• Reviews business performance and productivity with the team.
• Optimizes business through available channels and distribution avenues.
• Leverages Corporate Sales and Marketing support for key segments, managed accounts, corporate RFPs, and new business.
• Drives cross-selling with sister hotels through sales calls, partnerships, trade shows, exhibitions, client events, and promotions.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Provides marketing intelligence to guide short- and long-term business decisions.
• Works with Information Technology to maximize Sales and Marketing systems and monitor relevant trends.
• Works with the Director of Food and Beverage on promotional events and advertising coordination.
• Maintains close working relationships with division heads as part of the senior management team.
• Develops and updates divisional policies and manuals and ensures compliance across the group.
• Leads recruitment and talent development for current and future divisional needs.
• Acts as a brand ambassador and models the company's culture, vision, mission, and core values.
