Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Accounting Operations: Oversee and guide daily accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all relevant regulations. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient internal controls.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on key performance indicators and trends.

• Revenue Recognition: Oversee the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant guidance. Review customer contracts and assess proper revenue recognition treatment. Work closely with sales and legal teams to address revenue recognition matters.

• Audit and Tax Support: Oversee and manage the annual financial audit and income tax preparation processes. Oversee audit schedules and support internal audits. Ensure compliance with SOX requirements.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Stay abreast of best practices in accounting and technology. Proactively seek out opportunities to improve and scale financial systems and processes in anticipation of future growth and the transition to the Controller role.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting knowledge, GAAP expertise, and in-depth understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606). Experience with NetSuite is required.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
