Job Purpose

  • Develop and implement strategy for corporate trade distribution working with GTB teams across the wholesale bank.
  • Grow the FI Trade Sales business volume across multiple origination locations to enable higher origination by FI coverage teams.
  • Enhance distribution of bespoke Shorouq transactions to wider investor base including European and Islamic banks.
  • To develop new investors across banks, multilaterals and insurance companies in identified geographical markets to distribute trade transactions originated by the coverage team.
  • Efficiently manage large investor relationships in insurance and multilaterals including Munich Re, Swiss Re, BII, IFC and Africa Development Bank.
  • Work with Wholesale digital and Advanced Analytics to develop and improve the digital trade distribution platform.
  • Engage with ERM team to align on ECL/ RWA benefits on credit risk mitigants in line with market practice.

Key Result Areas

  • Be the focal point of contact for all investors buying trade assets from Mashreq.
  • Develop strong working relations with all existing/ new investors across banks, insurance companies and multilateral organizations to position Mashreq as their preferred bank.
  • Continuously engage with investors to provide market knowledge to internal stake holders including providing pricing trends and other transactions being discussed.
  • To have working relations with internal stakeholders including coverage teams, GTB, risk management and overseas branches.
  • Maintain selldown tracker with details on pipeline and sold positions to be shared with stakeholders at agreed intervals.
  • Manage key investor relationships and set up program limits with selected investors.
  • Consistent feedback to wholesale digital and advanced analytics team to improve the digital trade distribution platform.
  • Closely work with ERM team on the ECL/ RWA treatment for credit risk mitigant.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • The candidate must possess:
  • Strong multi-product investment banking expertise with exposure to trade distribution amongst others.
  • Experience in managing investor relationships on trade loan sales side.
  • A good communicator with relationship development bent of mind, developed presentation skills while being an effective team-player.
  • Strong credit skills and a good blend of domestic and international market knowledge with investor coverage network in markets Mashreq operates in.
  • Exposure to a good blend of domestic and international market knowledge on trade loan sales, Trade finance and Financial Institutions business side.
  • A proactive and energetic personality with the ability and desire to multitask.
  • The candidate to have a minimum of 12-14 years’ experience spent with one or better known regional or global institution involved in similar nature of business.
