About the Role

Program Overview
- The Diploma in Nuclear Technology (DNT) is an entry level program providing initial nuclear training for UAE National high school graduates who wish to join the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program as a local operator or maintenance technician at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant (BNPP).
- Local operator and Maintenance Technician are important roles to ensure safe operation and maintenance of the Barakah Plant.
- The DNT is a national vocational qualification, accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) through the National Qualifications Centre (NQC).
- The program is delivered by Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC).
- As a UAE National DNT trainee, you will develop knowledge and understanding about science and engineering fundamentals, nuclear power plant systems and processes.
- On completion of the DNT, local operators and maintenance technicians are permanently located at the Barakah Plant.
- The next intake will start during the Fall of Year 2026 2027. Program will start on Nov 2026.
Program Structure
- The DNT is 24 months in duration, delivered at HQ in Abu Dhabi and at the Barakah Plant.
- 1st Year HQ: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical, Instruments & Controls (I&C), Mechanical, Nuclear Systems, Radiation Protections, Line Shadow.
- 2nd Year Barakah: Initial Training for Operations or Maintenance, On Job Training.
Admission Criteria
- Must be a UAE National.
- Age Between 18 25.
- High School Certificate with minimum grade 70%.
- IELTS 5 or Equivalent.
- Completed National Military Service (no exemptions permitted).
