Design Manager

Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team in developing comprehensive design proposals for airport infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical, electrical, and structural systems into the design
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and identify potential challenges
• Manage the production of design drawings, models, and specifications while ensuring compliance with all applicable building codes and standards
• Review and critique design submissions, providing constructive feedback to enhance overall project quality
• Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals and permits for construction
• Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, adjusting designs as needed to accommodate changes or new challenges
• Mentor and guide junior designers and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in design management, specifically with a focus on aviation or large-scale construction projects
• Strong understanding of airport design standards and regulations
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling tools
• Excellent project management abilities, with a proven track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and team members
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to visualize and conceptualize design ideas
• Experience working on airport infrastructure or related infrastructure projects is highly desirable
