Role overview
AECOM is seeking a Design Manager with strong aviation experience to join its building engineering team.
The role supports complex aviation projects, with a particular focus on airport terminals and integrated building services in operational environments.
The role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary building engineering design teams across architecture, structure, civil, MEP, hydraulics, fire, ICT, security, acoustics, and specialist disciplines.
- Drive delivery of complex aviation projects and integrated building services solutions.
- Translate operational requirements from clients, airport operators, end users, contractors, and consultants into practical coordinated designs.
- Manage design coordination from concept through detailed design and delivery, resolving interfaces and design conflicts.
- Manage design risks, technical assurance, programme requirements, stakeholder expectations, quality, and buildability.
- Lead design reviews and coordination workshops to resolve issues and verify project, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Ideally 10 or more years of experience in building engineering, design, or construction, with progression into design management or multidisciplinary project leadership.
