Overview
Design Manager opportunity for PMC development projects in Saudi Arabia across RIBA Stages 1–4.
The role supports PMC Senior Project Managers and oversees client-appointed Lead Design Consultants on development projects.
The position requires structured, systematic, efficient, disciplined work with strong communication and reporting skills.
Your role
- Prepare scopes of work for lead design consultant and consultancy service tenders.
- Oversee design activities, coordination, progress, deliverables, client approvals, and statutory permits across RIBA Stages 1–4.
- Manage staged design reviews, stakeholder reporting, gateway reports, design compliance, quality plans, and HSE plans.
- Evaluate design changes and their time, cost, and quality impacts and make recommendations.
- Assist with cost estimates, value engineering, constructability studies, design planning, scheduling, and approvals.
- Coordinate workshops and progress meetings, complete meeting minutes, and ensure RFP scopes are complete before bidding.
- Ensure monthly design progress reports are issued and collaborate on identifying and eliminating design risks.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field qualification.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- At least 7 years of Design Manager experience, including 3 years of PgMC or PMC managerial experience on similar projects.
- Experience with pre-contract projects in hospitality, education, culture, arts, museums, or mixed-use sectors.
- Knowledge of mixed-use asset regulations, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Proficiency in BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, adaptability, and safety-focused skills.
