Job Description
The Design Lead (Electrical DC) will review and execute engineering activities for solar PV power plants.
The role supports the full engineering cycle from pre-bid work through commissioning and warranty periods and provides support to the site team.
The Design Lead leads design engineers and draughtspeople and manages engineering delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review generation estimates, plant layouts, DC SLDs, solar module selection, inverter sizing, SMB, earthing layouts, and cable sizing calculations.
- Facilitate BIM 3D model development for PV solar power plants.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary checks with civil, structural, instrumentation, MEP, and other departments.
- Review office documents, drawings, design calculations, vendor deliverables, and client approval submissions.
- Coordinate with OEM engineers, civil contractors, and local consultants for installation, construction, and design adaptation.
- Estimate and plan man-hour requirements and deliver multiple engineering outputs on time.
- Review BOQs, provide technical clarifications, and coordinate with contracts and supply chain teams.
- Evaluate vendors technically, inspect finalized-vendor equipment, and validate vendor documentation.
- Coordinate project inputs with clients, vendors, project engineering, and operations teams.
