Role Description

  • This full time, on site Demi Chef De Partie role is based at our Steak House concept in Abu Dhabi.
  • The Demi Chef De Partie will support the Chef De Partie and wider kitchen team in preparing and cooking high quality steak and grill items.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high quality steak and grill items, side dishes, sauces, and accompaniments in line with restaurant standards.
  • Organize and maintain the designated section, ensuring proper mise en place.
  • Adhere to portion and presentation guidelines.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections during service.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness.
  • Assist in stock rotation and inventory control.
  • Help train junior team members.
  • Contribute to new menu items and specials.
  • Uphold a respectful, efficient, and collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • Professional culinary training or relevant hospitality certification, with practical experience in a busy restaurant kitchen (steak house, grill, or upscale dining experience is an advantage).
  • Strong skills in meat preparation and grilling techniques, including knowledge of steak cuts, cooking temperatures, and consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of basic cooking methods (sautéing, roasting, frying, sauce preparation) and experience with kitchen equipment and tools used in a steak focused operation.
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP standards, and kitchen hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and organized workstations.
  • Ability to follow recipes and plating standards accurately, manage mise en place efficiently, and work under pressure during peak service times.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across kitchen and service teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities, with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing service needs.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to support training and development of more junior team members.
  • Previous experience in the UAE or GCC region, and basic knowledge of English for workplace communication; additional languages are a plus.
