  • The Applied Research team is a group of data scientists and content specialists expert in machine learning, NLP, and generative AI.
  • We drive innovation in product surface experimentation, metadata generation, and model development.

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a Data Scientist II with experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
  • You will help design and implement high impact AI and ML systems in cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on content classification use cases using traditional NLP to LLMs and generative models.
  • Investigate methods to solve challenging problems at scale.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and ML Data Engineers.
  • Leverage algorithms from Scikit learn to PyTorch to third party LLM APIs.
  • Process massive amounts of data with Python, SQL, and Spark.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and write project documentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience developing ML models and deploying to production.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Hands on experience with ML pipelines and distributed data processing (Spark, Databricks).
  • Intermediate level in at least three of: classification, NLP, search, information retrieval, NER, deep learning, generative models.
  • Intermediate SQL or PySpark.
  • Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative discipline.

Compensation

  • In Canada, the reasonably expected salary range is between CAD 123,000 and CAD 150,000.
  • This position is also eligible for competitive equity ownership and comprehensive benefits.
