Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to support the finalization and operational readiness of enterprise data governance deliverables within a large-scale Data & AI Transformation Program.
The majority of governance frameworks, policies, tooling designs, and operational models have already been developed.
The selected consultant will focus on reviewing the current state, refining and completing key governance artifacts, validating documentation, and ensuring all deliverables are implementation-ready and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong expertise in enterprise data governance, stakeholder engagement, policy management, metadata and lineage tooling, and data stewardship enablement.
Key Responsibilitiesgovernance Review & Validation
- Review existing data governance frameworks, operating models, policies, standards, and technical documentation
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and areas for improvement
- Validate governance structures against industry best practices and enterprise objectives
Refinement & Finalization
- Enhance and finalize governance deliverables to ensure completeness, consistency, and implementation readiness
- Align governance artifacts with business, regulatory, compliance, and AI governance requirements
- Ensure documentation quality and traceability across governance domains
Policy & Standards Consolidation
- Finalize enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Cover governance domains including:
- Data Quality
- Data Classification
- Data Sharing
- Metadata Management
- Data Modelling
• Compliance & Privacy
- AI Governance
Governance Tooling Review
- Review governance tooling configuration, taxonomy, workflows, and operational usage
- Validate metadata cataloging, data lineage, classification, and stewardship workflows
- Complete and refine supporting technical and operational documentation
Adoption & Stewardship Enablement
- Refine training materials, onboarding documentation, and stewardship guidance
- Support onboarding and enablement of Data Stewards and Governance stakeholders
- Ensure governance processes are practical, scalable, and user-friendly
Quality Assurance & Handover
- Conduct quality assurance reviews across all governance deliverables
- Ensure deliverables are implementation-ready and suitable for operational rollout
- Prepare documentation packages for stakeholder review, sign-off, and handover
Expected Deliverables
- Finalized Data Governance Operating Model and Role Framework
- Completed and quality-assured Data Governance Policies and Standards
- Reviewed and documented Governance Tooling Setup
- Refined Data Stewardship Training & Onboarding Materials
- Implementation-ready governance documentation and handover packs
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Management, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Programs
- Proven experience in enterprise-wide Data Governance implementation and operationalization
- Strong understanding of:
• Data Governance Frameworks
- Metadata Management
- Data Lineage
• AI And Data Ethics Governance
- Experience working with governance tools such as:
- Collibra
- Microsoft Purview
- Informatica
- Alation
- Similar metadata/governance platforms
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Experience within large enterprise or transformation programs is highly preferred
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with enterprise Data & AI transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks related to data governance
- Experience in governance operating model design and stewardship enablement
