Dam Operations and Asset Performance
- Provide specialist engineering advice for dam and associated water-infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans.
- Review the performance and condition of gates, valves, pumps, hydraulic systems, lifting equipment, and mechanical assets.
- Assess reliability, availability, maintainability, efficiency, recurring failures, and operational risks.
Maintenance and Technical Improvement
- Conduct root-cause analyses of equipment failures and operational incidents.
- Recommend corrective, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance solutions.
- Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance histories, operational data, and asset-management records.
- Monitor operations and maintenance KPIs and convert trends into improvement actions.
Procedures and Contractor Oversight
- Develop and review operating philosophies for normal, abnormal, emergency, shutdown, and restart conditions.
- Review preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance strategies against recognized standards and good industry practice.
- Review technical submissions, specifications, maintenance plans, contractor proposals, and method statements.
- Support testing, commissioning, handover, defect resolution, and return-to-service activities.
Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, hydraulic, safety, risk, planning, and asset-management specialists.
- Support emergency planning and response for equipment failures, flooding, and other abnormal conditions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and technical reports as required.
- Attend meetings, inspections, and site visits anywhere in Saudi Arabia as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in dam projects.
- Substantial experience in dam operations, maintenance, technical support, or asset-performance improvement.
- Strong knowledge of dam-related mechanical and hydraulic equipment, including gates, valves, pumps, actuators, hoists, and hydraulic power units.
- Experience with operating philosophies, maintenance strategies, equipment-failure analysis, operational data, and maintenance-performance trends.
- Experience using planning, scheduling, maintenance-management, or asset-management systems.
- Strong technical-reporting, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
Work Context
- The role includes meetings, inspections, and site visits anywhere in Saudi Arabia as required.
- The work must comply with Saudi laws, applicable codes, client procedures, quality requirements, and occupational health and safety obligations.
