Job Description

  • Parsons is looking for a Cybersecurity Specialist (Senior) to join the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage cybersecurity operations for project information systems and business applications.
  • Act as primary technical point of contact with vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit cybersecurity systems and controls.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of workstations, servers, applications, and networks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide cybersecurity support, guidance, training, and incident recovery assistance.
  • Lead investigations related to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and oversee implementation of security controls.
  • Serve as cybersecurity representative on project teams.
  • Monitor cybersecurity risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support compliance with project, client, and regulatory cybersecurity requirements.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT infrastructure, or related technology environments.
  • Strong experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and security administration.
  • Knowledge of network technologies including MPLS, VPN, and wireless networking.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles including firewall technologies, access control, authentication, and digital signatures.
  • Experience with domain structures, identity management, and user authentication systems.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800 53 and related cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Ability to evaluate existing security controls and develop remediation plans.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to investigate security incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Experience supporting large scale infrastructure, transportation, rail, or government projects.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
  • Experience with cybersecurity technologies, security monitoring tools, and enterprise security solutions.
