Requirements
- US Customs Broker License required
- Bachelor Degree
- 5 7 years’ experience in Customs
- 5 7 years of Management Experience
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
- Reporting balance sheet proficient
- Project Management Skills
- Analytical and reasoning skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Spanish preferred
- General knowledge of Foreign Trade Policies
- In depth knowledge and practice of US Customs Regulations, US Imports, Exports & Post Entry

Your Role
- Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) is a global leader in automotive manufacturing, specializing in wiring harnesses, high voltage cabling, and EV chargers.
- We are seeking a Customs Specialist to oversee the correct execution of all US import, exports and post entry via all transportation modes (Land/Air/Ocean).
In your daily job you will
- Manage US Customs Work Instructions (Aptiv Internal)
- Report Customs Financials to Business
- Process Service Provider Invoices for payment
- Resolve shipment data insufficiencies for US Imports & Exports
- US Post Entry Corrections & Data Retention
- Perform Duty Rate Analysis
- Entry Data Analysis & Auditing
- ISA Testing
- Surety Bond Management
- AD/CVD Qualification
- 301 Exclusion Qualification

- Interact with Partner Government Agencies
- PGA Reporting
- FDA Annual Reporting
- Interact with Customs National Account Manager
- Interact with Internal Aptiv Legal & Compliance Teams
- IT Connection Monitor & Manage Functionality (EDI connectivity)
- ACE Portal Owner
- Create & Maintain Reports – ACE, CDW, Broker Portals
- CARM Portal Owner
- Manage Customs Brokers
Additional Responsibilities (cont.)
- Manage Customs Broker Contracts
- Manage Broker Instructional Documents
- Carrier Power of Attorney Management & Record Retention
- Cross border Logistics or Southern Boarder activities (States more than Canada)
- Special Projects (e.g., Trade Show Imports)
Your Background
- US Customs Broker License required (Will require verification)
- Bachelor Degree
- 5 7 years’ experience in Customs
- 5 7 years of Management Experience
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
- Reporting balance sheet proficient
- Project Management Skills
- Analytical and reasoning skills for escalation to manager/leadership.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Spanish preferred
- General knowledge of Foreign Trade Policies
- In depth knowledge and practice of US Customs Regulations, US Imports, Exports & Post Entry
