Responsibilities
- Host and conduct table rounds in the S.A.L.T. Kitchen every evening during dinner service
- Attend menu briefings to master details on ingredient sourcing, preparation techniques, and regional narratives
- Provide warm welcomes, offer curated menu recommendations, and share the S.A.L.T. philosophy
- Promote upcoming menus, shore experiences, and program activities to departing guests
- Manage daily operations, cleanliness, and readiness of the S.A.L.T. Lab
- Oversee inventory control, ordering processes via Fidelio, breakage reporting, and equipment maintenance
- Coordinate recipe and program collateral distribution with Media and Broadcast teams
- Escort, support, and serve as auxiliary host during S.A.L.T. culinary shore excursions
- Collaborate with Shore Concierge to promote destination based culinary experiences
- Maintain compliance with USPH standards and sanitation regulations
- Participate in mandatory ship safety drills, environmental compliance training, and emergency duties
Requirements
- Valid STCW 95 certification
- Physically and medically fit for sea duty
- Professional kitchen training or culinary education experience
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Experience with budget management, inventory control, and cost control systems
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong worldwide destination and culinary culture knowledge
- Prior experience conducting cooking demonstrations preferred
- Onboard systems experience (Fidelio) preferred

Job Purpose
- The S.A.L.T. Host/Coordinator bridges the gap between the ship’s culinary execution and guest engagement, blending luxury hospitality hosting, culinary storytelling, laboratory operations management, and destination integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Host and conduct table rounds in the S.A.L.T. Kitchen every evening during dinner service.
- Attend menu briefings to master details on ingredient sourcing, preparation techniques, and regional narratives.
- Provide warm welcomes, offer curated menu recommendations, and share the S.A.L.T. philosophy.
- Promote upcoming menus, shore experiences, and program activities to departing guests.
- Manage daily operations, cleanliness, and readiness of the S.A.L.T. Lab.
- Act as primary liaison between Chef de Cuisine, Bartender, and Kitchen Stewards.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering via Fidelio, breakage reporting, and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate recipe and program collateral distribution with Media and Broadcast teams.
- Escort, support, and serve as auxiliary host during S.A.L.T. culinary shore excursions.
- Collaborate with Shore Concierge to promote destination based culinary experiences.
- Maintain compliance with USPH standards and sanitation regulations.
- Participate in mandatory ship safety drills, environmental compliance training, and emergency duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid STCW 95 certification; physically and medically fit for sea duty.
- Professional kitchen training or culinary education experience; recipe testing and development experience valued.
- Strong public speaking, presentation skills, and ability to convey complex culinary narratives.
- Experience with budget management, inventory control, cost control systems, and MS Office proficiency.
- Onboard systems experience (Fidelio) preferred.
- Prior experience conducting cooking demonstrations preferred.
- Strong worldwide destination and culinary culture knowledge required.
- High moral integrity, discretion, and commitment to luxury hospitality standards.
