About the Role
NMC Healthcare is hiring a CSSD Technician to manage the Central Sterile Supply Department. Responsibilities include cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing instruments, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with policies.

- Perform all managerial functions of CSSD
- Establish and ensure implementation of CSSD policies and procedures
- Ensure instruments and equipment are cleaned and decontaminated according to guidelines
- Direct and supervise activities relating to washer/disinfectors and other equipment
- Ensure instrument sets are standardized, sterilized, and in good working condition
- Prepare duty rotas and assign tasks to CSSD staff
- Assess CSSD supply needs and establish standard inventory
- Monitor, document, and report effectiveness of sterilizers
- Comply with OSH and infection control policies

- Knowledge of CSSD policies and procedures
- Experience with washer/disinfectors and sterilization equipment
- Ability to supervise and assign tasks to CSSD staff

Responsibilities
- Performs all managerial function of CSSD
- Establishes and ensures the implementation of CSSD policies and procedures
- Ensures instruments and equipment are cleaned and decontaminated according to established guidelines
- Directs and supervises activities relating to the operation of washer/disinfectors and other related equipment
- Ensures instruments sets are standardized, sterilized and in good working condition
- Prepares duty rotas, assigns tasks and duties of CSSD staff
- Develops and coordinates with the Education Department in the orientation of new staff
- Assesses CSSD supply needs and establishes a standard CSSD inventory
- Monitors documents and reports effectiveness of sterilizers
- Notifies appropriate departments of malfunction of equipment or lack of supplies
- Develops, coordinates and participates in routine educational programs and staff meetings
- Monitors compliance with policy and procedure
Compliance
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures
- Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Notify OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and assist with risk assessments
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
