About the Role
NMC Healthcare is seeking a CSSD Technician to manage the Central Sterile Supply Department in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising decontamination, sterilization, and inventory of instruments, as well as training staff and ensuring compliance with infection control policies.

Responsibilities
- Manage all functions of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)
- Establish and implement CSSD policies and procedures
- Ensure instruments and equipment are cleaned and decontaminated per guidelines
- Direct and supervise operation of washer/disinfectors and related equipment
- Prepare duty rotas and assign tasks to CSSD staff
- Assess supply needs and maintain standard inventory
- Monitor sterilizer effectiveness and report malfunctions
- Coordinate with Education Department for staff orientation
- Comply with OSH and infection control policies
Requirements
- Experience in CSSD or sterile processing
- Knowledge of infection control and OSH standards
- Ability to supervise and train staff

Overview
- Performs all managerial functions of CSSD.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and ensures implementation of CSSD policies and procedures.
- Ensures instruments and equipment are cleaned and decontaminated per guidelines.
- Directs and supervises activities relating to washer/disinfectors and other equipment.
- Ensures instrument sets are standardized, sterilized, and in good working condition.
- Prepares duty rotas, assigns tasks and duties of CSSD staff.
- Develops and coordinates with Education Department for new staff orientation.
- Assesses CSSD supply needs and establishes standard inventory.
- Monitors documents and reports effectiveness of sterilizers.
- Notifies appropriate departments of equipment malfunction or supply shortages.
- Develops, coordinates, and participates in routine educational programs and staff meetings.
- Monitors compliance with policy and procedure.
- Coordinates with PI Nurse for PI activities.
Additional Duties
- Performs any other assigned responsibilities as identified by Nursing Administrator.
- Complies with all OSH and infection control policies and procedures.
- Works in accordance with documented OSH procedures and instructions.
- Familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Notifies OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and assists with risk assessments.
- Complies with waste management procedures and policies.
- Attends applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs.
- Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
