Job Overview
- Strategic position responsible for leading crew competence, training governance, and workforce development across an expanding fleet
- Work closely with Director of Crew Operations and key operational stakeholders
- Ensure seafarers have the competence, qualifications, and development pathways required
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's crew training and competence management strategy across the fleet
- Work collaboratively with Crew Operations to identify competency gaps and deliver practical training solutions
- Develop and maintain competence frameworks, career progression pathways and promotion standards for seafarers
- Support mobilisation planning by identifying training requirements for new projects and sourcing suitable training solutions
- Manage and continually improve crew management procedures, manuals and controlled documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
- Analyse audit findings, incident investigations and operational feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Monitor training effectiveness through operational performance, competency assessments and quality metrics
- Lead talent pipeline initiatives, including cadet, apprentice and graduate development programmes
- Build and maintain relationships with maritime academies, training providers and industry partners
