Job Overview

  • Assist in financial analysis, credit risk assessment, risk rating and structuring of facilities for assigned corporate relationships by working with Relationship Managers, meeting customers, preparing Credit Proposals, and liaising with Credit Risk Management and Compliance Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review with CIBG Relationship Teams/WRM deals, facility structures, credit products/services and provide business solutions within credit and operational risk guidelines.
  • Quick and timely turnaround of CPs while maintaining quality of analysis.
  • Ensure terms in proposal align with client expectations to avoid significant deviations; monitor exposures along with RAROC and overall profitability.
  • Follow up monitoring mechanisms with Credit Control Unit for strict adherence.
  • Review all Early Alert instances and promptly bring to attention of Direct Supervisor.
  • During RM’s absence, step into role of RM and provide guidance to team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 9 years of experience of credit/financial analysis at similar level in banking and/or related field.
  • Degree in business/economics; post graduate diploma/Chartered Accountancy or similar qualification is an asset.
  • Local market knowledge and sufficient knowledge of bank’s products and operating systems.
  • Excellent command over verbal and written English; Arabic language skill is an added advantage.
  • Conversant with banking laws and local regulations.
  • Good inter personal skills; team player with participation experience in banking initiatives.

Skills and Competencies

  • Analytical thinking, up to date on Macro Economic trends influencing the Industry.
  • Thorough understanding of Mashreqbank’s policies and procedures, regulatory, operational and compliance requirements.
  • Clear understanding of business transactions and relationship requirements with close coordination with relationship team and WRM.
  • Should use judgment in daily decisions and be guided by superior if required.
  • Responsibility to monitor and report portfolio quality, size, mix and ensure adherence to risk/return guidelines.
  • Monitor, report and recommend actions if risk profiles change.
  • Comment on account conduct/behavior of client.
  • Provide financial solutions to customer requirements.
