Role Purpose
Protect specimen integrity and laboratory turnaround through safe, timely, and fully traceable collection, transport, and delivery services.
The role supports reliable laboratory service delivery with controlled quality, safety, traceability, and operational risk.
Service Delivery
- Plan or follow approved routes, priorities, and collection windows.
- Verify package, handover, and delivery details at each transfer point.
- Maintain chain of custody, specimen security, and temperature requirements.
Quality and Risk
- Track movements and promptly escalate delays, missed pickups, or deviations.
- Complete daily vehicle, cooler, and transport-equipment checks.
- Maintain route, temperature, delivery, and incident records.
- Comply with CAP and ISO 15189 requirements where the role influences laboratory quality, specimens, support services, or records.
Operational Excellence
- Apply road safety, infection-prevention, and confidentiality requirements.
- Support urgent movements and route-continuity arrangements.
