Role Description
The Country Director – UAE is a part-time remote role responsible for the organization's strategy, operations, and growth within the United Arab Emirates.
The role includes virtual work and local forums or meetings in person when required.
Responsibilities
- Set country-level objectives and develop and execute strategic plans.
- Monitor performance against agreed targets.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, partners, regulators, and community organizations.
- Represent the organization in local forums and meetings.
- Coordinate remote teams and guide business development initiatives.
- Manage budgets and resources while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Report progress to regional or global leadership.
- Identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and promote an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Proven country or regional leadership experience in strategy, operations, and stakeholder management in the UAE or broader Middle East.
- Strong business development, partnership building, and client relationship management skills with a sustainable growth track record.
- Demonstrated financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation ability.
- Expertise in governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, including UAE legal and business frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills across cultures and remote teams.
- Experience leading diverse, distributed teams and supporting professional development.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, International Relations, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
- High integrity, strategic thinking, adaptability, and ability to work independently.
