Cost Controller / Accountant

Role Overview

Accounting Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payment vouchers, journal entries, and supplier payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, cash, and POS transactions.
• Monitor daily sales and reconcile POS transactions with accounting records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and account reconciliations.
• Monitor supplier balances, prepare statements of account, and assist with cash flow monitoring and payment planning.
• Maintain financial documentation and assist with UAE VAT preparation.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, and external accounting consultants when required.

Cost Control Responsibilities

• Monitor food, beverage, and operational costs and prepare cost-control reports.
• Conduct physical inventory and stock counts, reconcile stock with system records, and investigate variances.
• Prepare and maintain recipe costing and menu costing.
• Monitor purchasing prices, supplier price changes, and deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
• Monitor wastage, spoilage, breakages, complimentary items, transfers, and stock adjustments.
• Monitor portion control and ensure standard recipes are followed.
• Work with kitchen, bar, F&B, purchasing, and operations teams to control costs.
• Analyze sales, consumption, and inventory trends and support cost-saving strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant, cost controller, F&B cost controller, or in a similar position.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock control, food and beverage costing, and accounting.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and basic UAE accounting requirements.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting, POS, or inventory systems.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, work independently, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• UAE experience is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

• Restaurant and bar operations experience is advantageous.
• Experience with beverage costing, stock reconciliation, supplier invoices, POS reconciliation, and F&B inventory control is advantageous.

Compensation

• Pay starts from AED 8,000 per month.

Work Location

• The work location is in person.
