Role Overview
The Cost Control Engineer supports project cost management by applying cost control practices, analyzing financial data, and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
The role supports achievement of project objectives through budget monitoring, cost analysis, reporting, and financial review.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project budgets and cost estimates against the approved scope of work.
- Evaluate contractors' financial proposals and prepare cost comparisons and recommendations.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and variance analysis against previous or similar projects.
- Review periodic cost reports and verify contractor and consultant financial data.
- Monitor budgets, commitments, and expenditures against approved allocations.
- Assess change orders and their financial impact, recommending approval or rejection.
- Analyze project progress against actual expenditures.
- Verify material quantities against approved drawings and specifications.
- Maintain cost records, invoices, and project financial documentation.
- Review contractors' bank guarantees and financial securities for contractual compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cost control, project cost management, or project controls.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management or reporting tools.
- Experience in construction, industrial, or manufacturing projects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
