Role overview
Coordinate conveyor belt installation and end-to-end project delivery for the underground Grosvenor coal mine.
Provide mechanical engineering services and technical support to the Maintenance and Engineering department.
The position is full-time and permanent, based at Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah, Queensland.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate resources, work orders, equipment supply, and availability.
- Manage conveyor installation and design, including technical specifications, procedures, materials, labor, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate conveyor overhauls, installations, retrieval, and project schedules.
- Support maintenance plans, engineering projects, procurement, and equipment disposal.
- Identify root causes of downtime, accidents, and non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to mine planning and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Mechanical trade qualification is essential; higher tertiary education is desirable.
- Experience with conveyor system design.
- Mining maintenance or heavy-industry experience, preferably in coal mining.
- Experience leading a professional team to deliver targets.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation for compliance.
- Computer literacy in CAD manipulation.
- Experience with strategy development and continuous improvement.
Schedule and work options
- Monday to Friday site role with a nine-day fortnight option.
- Residential, company-funded FIFO, and DIDO options are available.
