Role Overview
Designs, develops, installs, manages, and maintains equipment that monitors and controls machinery and process systems.
Ensures control systems operate effectively, efficiently, and safely at the Kent, Ohio dairy foods manufacturing plant.
Works with operations, maintenance, purchasing, design, and Corporate Engineering colleagues.
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 2 or more years of manufacturing or processing experience, or an associate degree with 5 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with ladder logic, text-based programming, and function block concepts.
- Ability to use computer design and drafting software for machine controls designs.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic components, troubleshooting, programming, and distributed control systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees and vendors.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with SCADA, SQL Server, and FactoryTalk.
- Union experience or exposure.
- Experience with Fortune 500-type companies.
- Supervising or management experience leading and developing hourly employees.
Competencies and Responsibilities
- Develop new control systems and maintain or modify existing systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve process equipment efficiency and troubleshoot controls and programming.
- Support changes to process parameters and equipment and increase automation and controls.
Schedule and Travel
- This is a first-shift role that may require off-shift and weekend hours as needed.
- Minimum travel requirement is 10%.
- The position is based at the Kent, Ohio manufacturing facility and requires mobility in the production environment.
Salary
- The salary range is $81,200 to $121,800 per year.
