Mpac Langen Americas is looking for a Controls Designer to play a pivotal role in the design, debugging, and delivery of cutting‑edge automated packaging machinery. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure machines are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification , supporting projects from build through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer installation.
Software programming and electrical debugging activities for Mpac Langen machinery
Prepare machines for debugging and FAT by powering up, verifying I/O wiring, and validating electrical circuits
Debug and test machines to ensure full compliance with project specifications
Load and modify PLC programs and perform programming on standard components
Set up servos, VFDs, and other motion/control devices
Develop offline programs for machines or specific machine functions
Prepare ladder logic design patches during installation and commissioning phases
Work closely with wiring teams to resolve electrical issues and approve machines for debugging
Provide programming support during customer FATs

Support installation during commissioning of new machines
Travel to customer sites to provide electrical debugging support during machine installation
Update and mark up electrical schematics as required
Ensure adherence to internal work instructions and safety standards
Follow all company and customer safety rules on the shop floor and on‑site
BSc or equivalent technical education in Electrical Engineering
Proven experience in electrical automation and industrial machinery
Experience with packaging machinery or high‑speed automation is a strong asset
Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical
Strong understanding of Ontario safety standards , including:
Control Reliable Design
PSR legislation
A hands‑on, solutions‑driven mindset with strong collaboration skills
