About the Job

  • The Controls and Governance Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational discipline, accuracy, and compliance across card products and related activities.
  • This individual will act as the first line of control within the cards function—safeguarding processes, reviewing partner deliverables, and maintaining the integrity of customer facing information and internal documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Controls & Oversight: Serve as the internal point of accountability for governance within the cards team
  • Review partner and vendor reports, validating compliance with regulatory, contractual, and operational requirements
  • Monitor contractual timelines, flagging expired or soon to expire agreements and escalating for timely renewal or closure
  • Oversee telesales scripts and operations to confirm accuracy of cardholder communications
  • Ensure customer facing channels present accurate, consistent, and up to date information
  • Documentation & Process Integrity: Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Audit marketing and product collateral to prevent obsolete or conflicting content
  • Provide a detailed eye on contracts, agreements, and business cases before escalation
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Support: Directly support the Head of Cards in day to day governance and oversight
  • Collaborate with product managers, operations teams, telesales, and external vendors
  • Persuasively influence internal and external stakeholders to drive corrective actions

Requirements

  • Mandatory: English / Arabic is mandatory
  • 8 10 years of relevant experience in governance, compliance, and documentation management, preferably within financial services or payment products
  • Proven ability to review and interpret contracts, partner agreements, and reports
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach
  • Proactive and persistent personality
  • Comfortable working within card product teams and supporting senior leadership directly

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong governance, compliance, and documentation management experience
  • Relevant: 8 10 Years of relevant experience
