The Control Room Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and responds to directions from plant management. The Control Room Supervisor gives direction to operations personnel as it pertains to the safe and efficient daily operation of the plant.
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Associate degree in Power Plant Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, or a related technical field is preferred. Relevant technical training, power generation, industrial, or military experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Extensive power plant operations experience, including control room operations, system monitoring, and response to abnormal operating conditions; large-frame gas turbine and combined-cycle experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of power generation equipment and systems, including combustion turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, generators, auxiliary systems, and associated operating procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of combustion and steam turbine operations, steam generation systems, plant operating parameters, industrial safety, environmental requirements, and hazardous material management.
Working knowledge of water chemistry, water treatment systems, chemical handling, and monitoring and analysis of plant water conditions.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to direct operations personnel, coordinate shift activities, make sound operating decisions, and develop team capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot plant equipment and operating conditions, respond effectively to alarms and plant upsets, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
Strong safety and environmental compliance knowledge, along with effective verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with employees, management, Maintenance, and technical personnel.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
