Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist for an immediate-start, long-term contract role in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sector.
You will oversee post-award contract administration, tendering, claim resolutions, and contract close-outs for plant and head office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee post-award contract administration, monitor contractor schedules, track critical path activities, and ensure strict compliance with legal and contractual terms.
- Evaluate contractor claims, develop counterclaims, and handle penalties, call of performance bonds, and liquidated damages.
- Provide Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) support to management and build defence strategies against contractor claims.
- Process contract variations, negotiate directly with contractors, prepare recommendations for approval, and draft formal documentation.
- Coordinate contractor invoice approvals by verifying work progress on-site, checking completion certificates, and ensuring full commercial compliance.
- Manage contract close-outs, compile contractor performance reports, and arrange the release of Performance Bank Guarantees.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including direct experience in contract development within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry and paralegal contract administration.
