Responsibilities
- Diagnose, assess, and manage a wide range of paediatric ophthalmic conditions
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations and visual development assessments for infants and children
- Manage and treat conditions such as strabismus, amblyopia, cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal disorders
- Conduct or supervise surgical and non surgical interventions when required
- Collaborate with Paediatricians, Neurologists, Genetic Specialists, and Rehabilitation Teams for integrated patient care
- Monitor long term vision development and treatment outcomes
- Educate families on treatment plans, eye health, and preventive care
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior doctors and contribute to medical education and training programs
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree
- Specialization in Ophthalmology
- Fellowship / Board Certification / CCT in Paediatric Ophthalmology
- Proven Consultant level experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology
- DOH License / Eligibility or equivalent UAE licensing is an advantage
- Experience in tertiary care or specialized ophthalmology centers

Overview
- On behalf of our government healthcare client in Al Ain, UAE, we are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physician – Paediatric Ophthalmology to join a distinguished specialist team.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist with expertise in paediatric eye disorders, strabismus, and complex visual conditions to work in a leading tertiary healthcare facility.
Key Skills
- Expertise in Paediatric Ophthalmology and the management of complex eye conditions in children
- Strong experience in diagnosing and treating Strabismus, Amblyopia, Congenital Cataracts, and Paediatric Glaucoma
- Advanced knowledge in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and inherited eye disorders
- Proficiency in performing Paediatric Eye Examinations, Vision Assessments, and specialized ophthalmic procedures
- Experience in managing ocular trauma, refractive errors, and developmental eye abnormalities
- Strong communication skills with children, parents, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
