About the Role
Astra ProMed is seeking a Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist for a full-time position in Dubai. The role involves diagnosing and managing autoimmune and inflammatory disorders in children, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with DHA regulations.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune disorders
- Evaluate and treat conditions including juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), juvenile dermatomyositis, vasculitis, autoinflammatory syndromes, juvenile scleroderma, uveitis associated arthritis, and other connective tissue diseases
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, including musculoskeletal examinations and interpretation of laboratory and imaging findings
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing conventional disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic therapies, and immunomodulatory treatments
- Monitor disease progression, treatment response, medication safety, and long term outcomes
- Perform outpatient consultations and provide inpatient pediatric rheumatology consultations when required
- Collaborate closely with pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, nephrologists, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, immunologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists
- Educate patients and families regarding disease management, medication adherence, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits
- Supervise and mentor specialist physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Participate in research activities, teaching programs, and Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
- MD, Board Certification, CCT, CCST, Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Board, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification in Pediatrics
- Fellowship or subspecialty certification in Pediatric Rheumatology from a recognized institution
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist
- Minimum 5–8 years of post subspecialty experience at the consultant level is preferred
- Expertise in diagnosing and managing complex pediatric autoimmune and rheumatologic diseases
- Experience with biologic therapies and multidisciplinary management of pediatric rheumatic conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and family counseling skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are an advantage
