- Diagnose and manage a broad range of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including clinical examination and interpretation of diagnostic investigations
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non surgical approaches
- Perform elective and emergency orthopedic surgical procedures
- Provide pre operative assessment, surgical planning, and post operative management
- Manage orthopedic trauma cases in accordance with hospital protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case reviews
- Perform procedures including joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports injury surgery, fracture fixation, trauma surgery, upper/lower limb surgery, hand/wrist procedures, foot/ankle surgery, pediatric orthopedic procedures, spine procedures, bone and soft tissue procedures, emergency orthopedic surgeries
- Deliver evidence based, patient centered orthopedic care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and rehabilitation plans
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent)
- Completion of an accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery
- Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification in Orthopedic Surgery from a recognized international board
- Minimum 5–8 years of post board certification experience as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon
- Current DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant License or eligibility to obtain one
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty is highly desirable
- Experience in tertiary care or multispecialty hospitals

Job Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Abu Dhabi.
- The successful candidate will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and diseases while delivering patient centered care in accordance with international best practices and DOH Abu Dhabi regulations.
- The Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon will perform elective and emergency orthopedic procedures, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to clinical excellence, patient safety, quality improvement, teaching, and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Clinical
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including clinical examination and interpretation of diagnostic investigations.

Key Responsibilities Patient Care
- Deliver evidence based, patient centered orthopedic care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and rehabilitation plans.
- Obtain informed consent in accordance with hospital policies.
- Coordinate rehabilitation plans with physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams.
- Ensure continuity of care throughout the patient's treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities Administrative
- Participate in departmental meetings and hospital committees.
- Contribute to departmental strategic planning and service development.
- Support accreditation standards (DOH, JCI, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical governance, and UAE healthcare regulations.
- Participate in the consultant on call roster.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Research
- Mentor junior physicians, residents, interns, and medical students.
- Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
- Engage in clinical research, publications, and presentations.
- Promote evidence based orthopedic practice.
- Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings and departmental educational sessions.
Key Responsibilities Quality & Patient Safety
- Adhere to international patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Monitor surgical outcomes and implement best practices.
- Report clinical incidents and support corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
Qualifications & Requirements Essential
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent).
- Completion of an accredited residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification in Orthopedic Surgery from a recognized international board (e.g., Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, UK CCT, FRCS, Australian/NZ Fellowship, European Board).
- Minimum 5–8 years of post board certification experience as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon.
- Experience in tertiary care or multispecialty hospitals.
- Expertise in elective and emergency orthopedic surgery.
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty is highly desirable.
- Current DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant License or eligibility to obtain one.
- Successful completion of DataFlow Primary Source Verification and UAE credentialing requirements.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Fellowship training in Arthroplasty, Sports Medicine, Trauma Surgery, Spine Surgery, Hand & Upper Limb Surgery, Foot & Ankle Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, Musculoskeletal Oncology, Shoulder & Elbow Surgery.
- Robotic assisted orthopedic surgery experience.
- Academic teaching and research experience.
- Publications in peer reviewed journals.
