Responsibilities
- Deliver best in class General Surgery Services
- Examine patients, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to determine diagnosis
- Direct nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care
- Administer and prescribe treatments such as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and families
- Monitor patient's condition and progress and re evaluate treatments as necessary
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary
- Hold clinic daily and take on call duty outside of scheduled working hours
- Help lead quality improvement within the Department
- Support a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement

- Qualified medical professional with specialization in General Surgery
- Experience in delivering General Surgery Services
- Ability to perform and interpret diagnostic tests
- Commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME)

Job Description
- Supports, implements, and follows Reem Hospital's departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Ensures comprehensive documentation in the Medical Record to accurately reflect the patient's diagnosis and treatment.
- General accountability for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of general health problems.
- Deliver best in class General Surgery Services.
- Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care.
- Examines patients and determines x ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required.
- Examine patients, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
- Administers and prescribes such conservative measures of treatment as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and families.
- Monitor patient's condition and progress and re evaluate treatments as necessary.
- Collect record and maintain patient information such as medical history reports and examination results.
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
- Helps lead quality improvement within the Department.
- Facilitates good cross functional communication to optimize patient care.
- Supports a culture of regular audit and encourages the use of audit results for improving clinical practice.
- Supports the reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.
- Fosters a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement across the Department by promoting and assisting in instruction, guidance and supervision of junior medical staff, facilitating essential training, and showing commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).
- Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication.
- Keeps abreast of the current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.
