Responsibilities
- Perform professional duties of a gastroenterologist as per delineation of privileges
- Conduct assessment and re assessment for all patients in OPD, on admission, and prior to procedures
- Evaluate patients with GI diseases in the GI Clinic
- Perform GI procedures including upper and lower GI endoscopies, liver biopsies, ERCP, and esophageal motility studies
- Provide consultation/referral services to inpatient services in area of expertise
- Provide after hours on call emergency coverage for GI emergencies
- Supervise and educate endoscopy staff, nurses, and technicians
- Participate in quality assurance activities (mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, audit, chart review)
Requirements
- Medical degree and specialization in Gastroenterology
- Delineation of privileges as recommended by Credentials Committee
- Ability to perform GI procedures (endoscopies, liver biopsies, ERCP, motility studies)
- Experience in providing consultation/referral services
