• The following items are required to be submitted with your application. Applicants who do not submit the required items timely may not be considered for this job:

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required.

• To be considered for the position, applicants must submit an SOQ along with their application. The SOQ is a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience, and skills qualifies you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. SOQs must have both first and last name and be no more than two (2) pages in length. The SOQ must specifically address the following questions in the order listed below and each response must be numbered to clearly indicate which question you are responding to: SOQ QUESTIONS:
• Provide one specific example that demonstrates your experience being part of a team and how you participated in the team.
• Describe your transferable or relevant skills you obtained in the military as it relates to the position advertisement.
• An effective case manager has time management, organization, and conflict resolution skills. Describe your experience as it pertains to these skills and provide specific examples.
• Describe in detail what you would say to local employers when presenting veteran job clients and what would you say or ask to determine what skills or positions the employer is looking to fill.

Initial evaluation of each applicant will be based on the content of the answers and written communication skills demonstrated on their submitted SOQ. Applicants who fail to follow these requirements or who do not provide responses to the specific questions in the order listed may be disqualified from the selection process.

Background Investigation Requirement

• The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
• The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).
• The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies. Anyone failing to pass the background investigation will be provided information on how to appeal the process. A criminal conviction may not result in an automatic determination of "Not Qualified."
