Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Configuration And Requirements Manager
to join our team!
In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of requirements and configuration management processes for a major railway project.
You will ensure that all project requirements are accurately captured, structured, and controlled, maintaining full configuration integrity and traceability across all deliverables.
The role also supports system integration, including interfaces with airport facilities where applicable, while ensuring alignment with client objectives, industry standards, and the overall project lifecycle.
What You'Ll Be Doing
- Develop and implement the Requirements and Configuration Management Plan aligned with client and project requirements.
- Lead Systems Engineering activities in accordance with ISO/IEC 15288 and relevant industry standards.
- Establish and manage requirements processes including elicitation, derivation, allocation, and traceability of SMART requirements.
- Maintain and manage the requirements management system (e.g. DOORS/DNG, ComplyPro or equivalent).
- Develop and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) across all project stages.
- Ensure proper flow-down of requirements across all disciplines, including infrastructure, rail systems, and airport interfaces where applicable.
- Lead configuration management processes including baseline definition, version control, and change management.
- Establish and maintain a configuration management system to control project documents, designs, and deliverables.
- Manage configuration change control processes, including evaluation and approval of change requests.
- Conduct configuration audits and requirements compliance reviews to ensure alignment with project standards.
- Support Systems Assurance processes in line with EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure requirements are understood, implemented, and verified.
- Manage interface requirements between rail systems, infrastructure, and operational environments, including airport/terminal interfaces where relevant.
- Facilitate requirements reviews, approvals, and stakeholder workshops.
- Monitor and report on requirements status, changes, risks, and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and training to project teams on requirements and configuration processes and tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve requirements and configuration management processes.
What Required Skills You'Ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field from a recognized university.
- Professional certification or membership in a relevant institute is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in rail projects and/or rail operations (GCC or international experience preferred).
- Proven experience in requirements and configuration management on large-scale rail or infrastructure programs.
- Strong experience in Systems Engineering and lifecycle management processes.
- Proficiency in requirements and configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS/DNG, ComplyPro).
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex multidisciplinary interfaces and system integration.
- Experience in airport integration, intermodal transport hubs, or complex operational environments is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Systems Assurance standards (EN 50126/8/9) and best practices.
- Experience in client-facing or consultancy roles on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-organizational environments.
- Understanding project management principles, cost, and programme constraint.
