• The Computer Support/Information Services Assistant will provide technical support, ensuring that faculty and students have the necessary tools for effective learning and communication.Columbia Technology Ventures (CTV) is seeking a part-time temporary Desktop Support Assistant. Candidate will be reporting directly to CTV's IT director. The incumbent must have an in-depth understanding of the Windows environment, Office products, and time management skills and a strong sense of personal responsibility for the needs of their clients. Responsibilities include: 1. Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, applications, and printers. 2. Support the roll-out of new hardware, software, and applications. 3. Work proactively with all users to identify, deploy and maintain technical solutions to facilitate a secure and productive environment for computing. 4. Performs routine maintenance and software upgrades for all peripheral devices. • One year of related support experience preferred. Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required. Knowledge of basic computer hardware. Experience with Windows operating systems. Ability to absorb and retain information quickly and present ideas in user-friendly language. Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong documentation skills. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Confidentiality and discretion are required.
