Role Description

The Composite QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all composite materials, processes, and finished products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

This role involves developing inspection plans, conducting quality checks, monitoring manufacturing processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures for composite manufacturing and assembly.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished composite products to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and dimensional inspections on composite parts.
  • Review engineering drawings, technical documents, and material specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and optimize quality controls.
  • Prepare inspection and test reports, quality records, and certifications as required.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.) where applicable.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and conduct audits when necessary.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in composite materials manufacturing and quality control (aerospace, automotive, or marine industries preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of composite layup, curing processes, and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving.
