Role Description
The Compliance Director is a part-time, remote role overseeing and strengthening the organization’s legal, regulatory, and financial compliance framework.
The role works with leadership and cross-functional teams to address compliance issues and support effective compliance practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and internal reviews.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams on compliance issues.
- Provide guidance on regulatory changes.
- Prepare audit and regulatory inquiry reports and documentation.
- Support staff training on compliance standards.
- Resolve identified compliance gaps and incidents in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Strong compliance management and legal compliance experience is required.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards is required.
- Analytical skills for risk assessment, control evaluation, and recommendations are required.
- A finance background covering financial controls and reporting requirements is required.
- Independent work in a remote environment and effective part-time prioritization are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- Leadership or director-level experience in compliance, legal, or risk management is highly beneficial.
- An advanced certification such as CCEP or CRCM is a plus.
