Job Summary/Role Description

  • Commissioning Instrument Supervisor executes activities pertaining to his discipline by means of Instrumental Specialists, in compliance with quality, health/environmental/safety regulations and procedures.
  • Reports to Commissioning Instrument Superintendent (CIT).
  • Assigned to project by AVIMP Head of Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed pre commissioning procedures for instrument items & packages, and procedures for functional tests.
  • Coordinate activities of instrumental specialist CIA, CLC.
  • Field check DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch list.
  • Monitor and ensure activities are carried out per procedures and requirements.
  • Organize and manage operations of assigned subcontractor team, controlling their job and safety procedures.
  • Support vendor specialists and coordinate their actions with commissioning supervisors.
  • Supervise vendor specialists and ensure efficient utilization.
  • Ensure all safety rules are in force and followed in field.
  • Keep records of all activities in logbook for progress monitoring and recovery actions.
  • Ensure activities are witnessed by client, prepare and sign off certificates, hand over to certification engineer.
  • May be authorized person to receive or issue permit to work.
  • Expedite pending punch list items per Commissioning Manager priorities.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil & gas plants / EPC projects.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, management skills.
  • Team oriented skills, self motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
