JOB DESCRIPTION
Position : COMMIS CHEF
Department : F&B KITCHEN
Reports To : EXECUTIVE CHEF
Purpose and Scope of Position
To fully understand and perform your job accountabilities and personal competencies as described below.
Working with your team to deliver the class mission. Outstanding customer service.
(Job Related Duties)
- Brand Standards: Brand standards are your detailed minimum standard of performance. Each one is summarized below:
- To demonstrate a high standard of personal appearance, always wearing the full and correct uniform and ensuring good personal hygiene.
- To have a full and up to date knowledge of hotel products and services.
- To ensure all telephone calls are handled politely and efficiently, ascertaining and accurately meeting the callers’ needs.
- To deliver friendly and professional service to customers is table positively promoting the dishes available.
- To produce food which is of good quality, taste and appearance, served at the correct temperature and which accurately meets customers’ needs.
- To handle complaints promptly and professional demonstrating genuine care and concern.
- To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of your department, its fixtures, and equipment.
- To ensure all legal and statutory regulations and responsibilities are met in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and our customers.
· Check function sheets for requirements.
- Check duties with senior chef on duty.
- Prepare mission en place as required.
- Prepare dishes as required.
- Take in deliveries.
- Clear down section as required.
- Serve guests at the “Table”.
- To ensure your department’s shift procedures are followed in order to meet financial and statutory requirements and support the delivery of outstanding customer service.

2. Ancillary Duties
- In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.
- Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.
3. Quality Responsibilities
- Aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values. Will be responsible to apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.
4. IT Security Awareness
Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
SUPPORTIVE SKILLS
- College or school diploma preferred but not a standard
- Previous experience in a similar position in 5 star property for at least 1 year
- Fluency in spoken English language
- Excellent communication skills
