Job Summary
Assist the bakery team with daily preparation, production, baking, and presentation of Japanese and European bakery products.
Maintain high standards of product quality, hygiene, and food safety.
Job Criteria
- Previous experience as a Commis Baker, Bakery Assistant, or in a similar position.
- At least 1–2 years of bakery experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, café, or commercial bakery.
- Experience with Japanese and European-style breads and pastries is highly preferred.
- Follow recipes, measurements, and production schedules accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery production area.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
- Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Bakery Skills
- Understand dough preparation, mixing, kneading, fermentation, proofing, shaping, and baking.
- Prepare Japanese products including shokupan, melon pan, anpan, curry bread, cream buns, and soft breads.
- Prepare European products including croissants, Danish pastries, baguettes, brioche, sourdough, artisan breads, rolls, buns, and pastries.
- Operate mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters.
- Understand bakery ingredients and their functions.
- Apply food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn.
