Job Summary
Join the bakery team as a commis baker supporting the preparation and production of bakery and pastry products.
Maintain quality, hygiene, food safety, and presentation standards in a professional bakery and restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef and bakery team with bakery and pastry preparation and production.
- Prepare and handle flour, yeast, eggs, butter, cream, chocolate, and other bakery ingredients.
- Assist with mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing products according to recipes.
- Support preparation of Japanese, European, Continental, and other bakery products as required.
- Maintain consistent product quality and presentation.
- Keep workstations, equipment, utensils, and bakery areas clean and hygienic.
- Follow food handling, storage, temperature control, and food safety procedures.
- Assist with stock checking, ingredient preparation, and proper storage of bakery supplies.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Bakery Chef.
- Use bakery equipment safely and properly.
- Support timely production during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or central kitchen is preferred.
